“In the heart of rural Bundelkhand, where dreams once struggled to find direction, a vision took root in 2007 to turn education into a force of change, growth, and empowerment.”
That vision came alive when the Samagra Bundelkhand Prakhand Shiksha Evam Samaj Kalyan Samiti laid the foundation for a new era in Deori’s educational landscape. It wasn’t just the
beginning of a college, it was the beginning of a movement.

In 2009, our very first D.Ed. batch marked a modest yet meaningful start. Like the first monsoon shower on parched earth, this was just the beginning. But what followed was a steady and
unstoppable rise. BCA and B.Com joined our offerings in 2010, followed by B.A and B.Sc in 2011, and with every passing year, our roots deepened in the soil of learning and our branches stretched out to embrace more rural students with possibilities. We knew this was just the beginning of something extraordinary. Year by year, we grew stronger.

Then came our transformative chapter. Between 2017 and 2018, we earned NCTE approval for a trio of dynamic teacher education programs: B.Ed, B.A.B.Ed, and B.Sc.B.Ed. These programs
embodied our innovative spirit, combining academic rigor with professional training to create the next generation of educators.

These were not just additions to our curriculum; they became the pillars of a new academic vision blending foundational knowledge with professional training, and aligning our goals with the progressive spirit of NEP 2020. It was then that we proudly emerged as a truly multidisciplinary institution, equipping students with both the intellectual depth and practical skills to shape the future of education in rural India.

As the sun rises over our campus each morning, it illuminates a unique educational ecosystem. Here, under the visionary framework of NEP 2020, boundaries between disciplines dissolve. A science student discusses Tagore’s poetry. An arts scholar learns computer programming. This is our multidisciplinary mantra where future educators become renaissance thinkers, as comfortable with equations as they are with ethics.

Our strength lies not only in the diversity of courses we offer, but in the exclusive academic ecosystem we’ve built. We are proud to be the only institution in the entire Sagar district that provides such a wide spectrum of undergraduate and teacher education programs under one roof. This variety is not a luxury, but a necessity for our rural students, whose access to quality education was once limited by geography and resources. At BKP, we broke that boundary and the results speak for themselves.

To nurture brilliance and reward merit, we launched the “Parakh” Examination in 2011; an annual competitive exam designed to identify and uplift talented students across the region.
Through this platform, we’ve not only discovered hidden gems but have also inspired thousands to pursue higher goals. Parakh is not just a test; it’s a celebration of rural potential. Every summer, thousands of village children gather like migratory birds, their notebooks filled with dreams. This isn’t just an exam; it’s a celebration of rural intellect. The brightest sparks earn wings through scholarships, proving that talent needs opportunity, not urban addresses.

In the same year, another powerful tradition began one close to our heart. Every 5th of September, we host the “Pt. Mahesh Prasad Mishra Shikshak Samman Samaroh” an event where
more than 5,000 teachers from across the region are honored for their unwavering dedication. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who silently shape generations and fuel the dreams of young minds. On Teacher’s Day, we don’t just honor educators; we worship the very idea of teaching. Farmers-turned-faculty, village schoolmasters with 40 years of service. here, every wrinkled face tells a story of silent sacrifice.

Our success is reflected not just in numbers, but in impact. From our classrooms have emerged scholars who’ve made us proud— like the five students who recently earned spots in the
university merit list, including a gold medalist. These milestones aren’t just academic achievements; they’re symbols of transformation, proof that rural students, when given the right platform, can compete and conquer at the highest levels.

In March 2025, a significant step furthered our journey when BKP College and Pt. Brijkishore Pateriya Shiksha Mahavidyalaya were unified under the new identity of “Pt. Brijkishore
Pateriya College of Education” in accordance with UGC Guidelines 2022 (Merger point 7-A). This merger wasn’t a consolidation, it was an evolution, aligning our collective strength under one vision, one name, and one purpose.

Today, as we move forward with the values of NEP 2020, we are not just running courses we are reshaping lives. We are bringing opportunities closer to home. We are ensuring that
education reaches the doorstep of every rural learner, breaking barriers and building bridges between dreams and destiny. And while our focus remains on higher education, our commitment
to lifelong learning quietly extends into skill-based programs and early schooling—touching lives at every stage, every step.

At Pt. Brijkishore Pateriya College of Education, we believe in the holistic development of our students—mind, body, and spirit. Our campus is equipped with vibrant sports facilities
including a dedicated badminton court, a volleyball ground, and an open-air gym to encourage fitness and active living. For indoor enthusiasts, we offer games like chess, carrom, and table tennis, fostering strategic thinking and recreational balance. Alongside physical development, our NSS unit, active since 2012, plays a vital role in instilling values of social responsibility and community service. Through regular camps, awareness drives, and village outreach programs, our NSS volunteers continue to make meaningful contributions to society while growing as empathetic and
active citizens.

This is not just a story of a college. It’s the story of a movement. The story of how a rural institution became a lighthouse of knowledge, illuminating thousands of lives with the power of education.
